Privacy Policy

What information Remorant collects, how it is used, who it is shared with, and the choices you have.

Effective

1Who we are

Remorant is a fraud intelligence platform developed by Whizzonby. In this policy, "Remorant", "we" and "us" refer to the team that operates the Remorant website and service.

You can reach us about anything in this policy at hello@whizzonby.com.

2What this policy covers

This policy covers two situations.

  • You use our website or have an account. This includes visiting the site, requesting a demo, and signing in to the dashboard. For this information we decide how it is used.
  • A customer sends us transaction data to score. Banks, payment processors and fintech platforms send transactions to Remorant through the API. We process that data on the customer's behalf and on their instructions. The customer's own privacy notice explains how they use your information.

3Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Demo requests: your name, work email, company, job title, company type and size, country, phone number if you provide it, and what you tell us about your fraud problem.
  • Accounts: your name, email address, company name and password. Passwords are stored only as a one-way hash.
  • Messages: anything you send us by email.

Information customers send through the API

The content of a scoring request is chosen by the customer. It typically includes a transaction identifier, amount, currency, time and channel, merchant and customer identifiers, and device information such as an IP address. We ask customers to send only what is needed to assess risk.

Information collected automatically

  • Log data such as IP address, request identifiers, timestamps and the endpoint called.
  • Records of actions taken in the dashboard, kept for audit purposes.

Payment information

Card payments are handled by our payment processor, Stripe. We receive confirmation of payment and billing details such as the plan and amount. We do not store full card numbers.

4How we use information

  • To provide the service: scoring transactions, returning decisions and keeping the decision record.
  • To create and secure accounts, including signing you in and preventing misuse.
  • To respond to demo requests and other enquiries.
  • To bill for the service.
  • To monitor, maintain and improve the reliability and accuracy of the service.
  • To meet legal obligations and to enforce our terms.

5Cookies

We use a session cookie that keeps you signed in. It is necessary for the dashboard to work. We do not use advertising cookies.

6Who we share information with

We do not sell personal information. We share it only in these cases.

  • Service providers that help us run Remorant, such as our hosting provider, our payment processor and our email delivery provider. They may use the information only to provide their service to us.
  • The customer whose account the data belongs to. Scores, decisions and records created for a customer are available to that customer's authorised users.
  • Legal reasons, where the law requires disclosure or where it is needed to protect the rights and safety of people or of the service.
  • A change of ownership, such as a merger or sale, in which case this policy continues to apply to the information transferred.

7How long we keep information

We keep information for as long as it is needed for the purposes described here, including while an account is active and for as long as we need it to meet legal, accounting and audit requirements. Data processed on behalf of a customer is kept according to our agreement with that customer.

8How we protect information

We use technical and organisational measures to protect information, including access controls, hashed credentials and audit logging. The measures in place are described on our Security page. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to have it corrected or deleted, to receive it in a portable format, or to object to how it is used.

To make a request, write to hello@whizzonby.com. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on it.

If your information reached us through one of our customers, such as your bank or payment provider, please contact that organisation first. We will help them respond to your request.

10Where information is processed

Remorant and its service providers may process information in countries other than the one you live in. Where that happens, we take steps intended to keep the information protected to the standard described in this policy.

11Children

Remorant is a service for businesses. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

12Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we will tell account holders by email or in the dashboard.

13Contact

Questions about this policy or about your information can be sent to hello@whizzonby.com.
